Composition control

RoleCentral Act requirement
Presiding OfficerSenior-level woman employee; statutory alternatives apply where unavailable.
Internal membersAt least two employees, preferably committed to the cause of women or with social-work experience or legal knowledge.
External memberNGO/association committed to women's cause or a person familiar with sexual-harassment issues.
Gender balanceAt least half of the total members must be women.
TenureNot more than three years.

Multi-location rule

Where offices or administrative units are at different places or levels, constitute the committee at all such units or offices. Maintain a location-wise register and do not assume a single head-office committee covers every unit.

Appointment file

Keep the written order, member acceptance, eligibility evidence, conflict declarations, tenure dates, training record, contact disclosure and external-member fee record.
