Finin2min is committed to producing accurate, unbiased, and actionable finance content for Indian investors, taxpayers, and business owners. This page explains our standards, processes, and the current state of our editorial review — including where review is still in progress, rather than claiming a process is complete before it is.
Our Editorial Mission
We exist to make institutional-quality financial information accessible to every Indian — from a first-time investor to a seasoned CFO. We aim for every guide, article, glossary term and calculator result to be produced or reviewed by a qualified finance professional. Our 3,406 editorial articles now carry named reviewer provenance: each records the reviewing professional and the date of review in its published structured data, so the claim can be checked rather than simply asserted. Our 208 calculators similarly carry a recorded review date and status. That aim is not yet met across the whole library, however, and we would rather say so plainly than imply otherwise. Our large statutory reference sections — the chapter-by-chapter study guides and the section-level legislative pages — remain extraction-assisted and have not yet been individually reviewed and signed off. Please treat those pages as a navigational aid to the underlying official text rather than as reviewed advice, and verify any figure, rate or provision against the primary source we link before relying on it. Reviewer sign-off is being extended to those sections progressively — see Contributors for current status. We never accept payment to influence editorial content.
Editorial Independence
Finin2min maintains strict separation between editorial content and commercial interests:
- No advertiser, partner, or sponsor influences what we write or how we rate financial products.
- Sponsored content, if any, is explicitly labeled "Sponsored" and produced separately from the editorial team.
- Our calculator methodologies are not influenced by financial institutions or product providers.
- Affiliate relationships (where present) are disclosed and do not affect our recommendations.
Our Content Creation Process
Credentials We Require
Content on Finin2min is created or reviewed by professionals with one or more of the following qualifications:
Content bylines are attributed to named professionals. The credential of our reviewing Chartered Accountant, CA Nikhil Gupta, has been verified by us and is recorded as verified on the Contributors page. Membership numbers, firm affiliation and our co-author’s credential are not yet published — the Contributors page marks each of those as pending verification rather than asserting them, and we update that page as each is confirmed.
Calculator Accuracy Standards
How We Validate Our Calculators
Every Finin2min calculator is:
- Built against the current statutory formula (Income Tax Act, Finance Act, RBI circulars, SEBI guidelines as applicable).
- Cross-validated against CBDT, SEBI, and RBI official tools where available.
- Reviewed after each Union Budget or regulatory change.
- Accompanied by a methodology page explaining the formula, assumptions, and data sources.
See our Methodology page for calculator-specific details.
Sources We Use
We cite only authoritative, primary or tier-1 secondary sources:
- Regulatory: SEBI, RBI, CBDT (Income Tax Department), MCA, GSTN, NPCI
- Market data: NSE, BSE, AMFI, Bloomberg, Reuters
- Government: Finance Ministry, Budget documents, Gazette notifications
- Academic/institutional: RBI Working Papers, SEBI Annual Reports, IMF/World Bank India data
Update & Review Policy
Trigger-Based Review
All content is reviewed immediately upon any of the following triggers:
- Union Budget announcements (February each year)
- SEBI circulars or regulatory changes
- RBI repo rate changes or monetary policy updates
- New Finance Act provisions
- Material changes to tax slabs, GST rates, or investment limits
Scheduled Review
All content pages display a "Last Updated" date. Our target is to review major guides at least annually even without a regulatory trigger, and to revisit calculator methodologies on the same cadence — this is a target we are working toward, not a guarantee that every page has already received a review on that schedule. Each methodology entry on our Methodology page states its own last-reviewed date so you can check the actual status for that specific calculator.
Legal Repository — Coverage Boundary
Our law and provision pages (statutes, sections, rules, and regulatory repositories under /laws/ and similar sections) are an interpretation and navigation layer over the underlying legal text, not a certified reproduction of it. This distinction matters more than usual right now: the Income-tax Act, 2025 and Income-tax Rules, 2026 became operative from 1 April 2026, SEBI has issued new Mutual Funds and Stock Brokers Regulations for 2026, and the Labour Ministry has published four Central Labour Code Rules, 2026 — all superseding or amending prior law that older pages may still describe.
Specifically:
- A provision page's summary, explanation, or "complete guide" framing describes our understanding of a section's effect — it is not a claim that the page reproduces, or has independently reconciled, the full signed official text, every amendment, proviso, explanation, and commencement notification.
- Where a page cites an official source, that citation may point to a gateway or portal search rather than a stable, deep link to the specific notification — treat it as a starting point for verification, not as evidence the citation was checked against the exact current wording.
- Some provision pages do not yet carry a dedicated sources list. Their absence does not mean the underlying page is wrong, only that source-linking coverage across this repository is still being built out.
- Before relying on any provision page for a filing, compliance decision, or dispute, confirm the current text, effective date, and amendment chain directly against the India Code / official ministry or regulator publication, or consult a qualified professional.
