What this section provides

Section 21 is the borrower/client correction route. Read it with Rules 20–26 and current RBI customer-service directions: the originating credit institution and CIC have separate investigation/correction roles, and the current compensation framework provides ₹100 per calendar day where an eligible complaint remains unresolved beyond 30 calendar days, subject to the allocation/exclusions in the RBI framework.

Working notes

  • What to check: Date-stamp complaint receipt by CI/CIC.
  • Before you close the file: Track source verification, correction dissemination, 30-day outer clock, compensation decision and escalation.
