Reviewed by CA Nikhil Gupta · Last reviewed 18 September 2026

Chapter VIInformation privacy principles and furnishing of credit information

What this section provides

Unauthorised access to credit information is expressly prohibited within the statutory privacy architecture. Rules 23, 27 and 28 require system-integrity, user-procedure and access/use/disclosure safeguards. Access entitlement should be tied to role, purpose and auditable authentication rather than mere technical ability to query a bureau.
