Section 18 — Settlement of dispute

Chapter VFunctions of credit information companies
What this section provides
Specified credit-information business disputes for which the Act provides no remedy are channelled to conciliation or arbitration under the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. The provision deems the required consent for using that dispute-resolution mechanism. First identify whether the Act already supplies a specific remedy; section 18 is residual, not a substitute for every statutory process.
