Fast Track Corporate Insolvency Resolution Process (Rules, 2017)

A compressed 90-day CIRP for smaller/simpler corporate debtors meeting specified eligibility criteria.

Eligibility

Fast Track CIRP is available for a corporate debtor with assets and income below notified thresholds, a small company, a startup (other than a partnership firm), or an unlisted company with total assets not exceeding the specified limit as per the last audited balance sheet.

Compressed timeline

The process must be completed within 90 days from the insolvency commencement date (extendable by up to 45 days with CoC approval and NCLT sanction) — materially shorter than the standard 330-day CIRP ceiling, reflecting the simpler asset/creditor profile these debtors typically present.
