What this section provides
Credit institutions must become members within statutory timelines; new institutions are subject to the post-commencement membership timeline. A CIC cannot reject membership without hearing the applicant and recording reasons; rejection can be appealed to RBI. Specified users obtain credit information through the CIC of which they are members.
