- Forest (Conservation) Rules, 2022 and amendments — supersede the earlier 2003 rules, prescribing the procedure for prior Central Government approval under Section 2 before non-forest use of forest land, including "Accredited Compensatory Afforestation" (proactive afforestation usable to obtain approval).
- Compensatory afforestation and NPV guidelines — the requirement to afforest equivalent non-forest land when forest land is diverted, plus Net Present Value payment; following 2017 Supreme Court directions, a penal NPV up to 5x the standard rate applies to unauthorised forest-land use.
- PARIVESH proposal and approval workflow — the online single-window portal (cpc.parivesh.nic.in) through which forest-diversion proposals are filed and tracked to approval.
- Advisory Committee guidelines — the Forest Advisory Committee's procedure for examining and recommending on diversion proposals before Central Government approval.
- State forest diversion and compliance conditions — State-specific conditions attached to approvals (e.g. NHAI road-project clarifications on Accredited CA land use).
