CIRP and Liquidation Compliance Calendar Master

Reviewed by CA Nikhil Gupta and Kajri Singh · Last reviewed 18 July 2026

The recurring statutory/regulatory timelines an IRP, RP or liquidator must track through a live assignment.

CIRP milestones

Public announcement within 3 days of appointment; claim collation and CoC constitution within 30 days; 330-day outer CIRP limit (including litigation time); periodic CoC meetings and progress reporting to NCLT/IBBI at each stage — a missed statutory milestone can itself become a ground for objection or extension refusal.

Liquidation milestones

Preliminary report within 75 days of liquidation commencement; asset sale process initiation per the SCC-consulted plan; periodic progress reports; self-imposed 1-year (or 2-year for going-concern sale) completion target under the Liquidation Process Regulations.

IP-level recurring obligations

Annual continuing-education/CPE compliance with the registering IPA, timely disclosure updates (conflicts, other assignments), and IBBI/IPA periodic reporting — separate from any single assignment's own calendar, an IP's registration itself carries ongoing compliance obligations.

Recent IBBI circulars to track (reference index)

IBBI updates CIRP/liquidation forms, filing routes and professional-conduct requirements through periodic circulars — always confirm the current version against the IBBI circulars page before a filing. Recent circulars practitioners should be aware of include: strengthening of Section 29A due-diligence requirements (November 2025); the Modification Utility and delayed-filing fee mechanism under CIRP Regulation 40B (December 2025); the Statement of Beneficial Ownership and Affidavit requirement under CIRP Regulation 38(3A) (December 2025); revised Guidelines for Conducting Valuation under the Code (June 2026); and an undertaking requirement for insolvency professionals appearing before PMLA Special Courts (November 2025). Verify each against the current signed circular before relying on it.
