What this section provides
RBI may impose statutory monetary penalties for specified failures/contraventions after following the Act’s process. Demanded penalties are payable within the statutory period; recovery can proceed through the principal civil court mechanism provided by the Act. Once RBI imposes a penalty for the relevant contravention/default, the Act restricts parallel court complaints in the manner stated in section 25.
