Effective from 1 April 2025, these directions govern current priority-sector targets and classification for the covered bank classes.
They are an operational example of RBI credit-direction powers under sections 21 and 35A; bank-class applicability and category criteria must be checked from the direction itself.
Credit-policy and reporting teams should preserve borrower/category evidence, eligible amount calculations and reporting reconciliations.
