Reviewed by Finin2min Editorial Desk · Last reviewed 12 August 2026

A six-month, time-bound settlement framework for eligible damages and penalty disputes under section 14B of the EPF & MP Act, 1952 and section 128 of the Code on Social Security, 2020, effective from 29 June 2026.

CURRENT · SIX-MONTH WINDOW FROM 29 JUNE 2026

Eligibility map

  • Map each notice, order, appeal, recovery and payment to the eligible category.
  • Reconcile contribution default periods and the damages computation.
  • Check pending litigation, withdrawal/closure requirements and authority approval.
  • Retain payment proof and signed closure evidence.

Risk control

A reduced damages route does not automatically settle contribution, interest, prosecution or issues outside the Scheme. Obtain matter-specific legal review for pending proceedings.

Reliance boundary

This page is an analytical currentness guide. The signed Gazette, applicable Scheme paragraph, EPFO implementation direction, saved legacy position and facts for the event date prevail.

Before relying on this page

This page is a structured implementation summary, not the operative legal text. Portal or process acceptance of a filing does not by itself establish legal compliance - the underlying classification, authority, evidence and timeline still have to be independently correct. Where the facts are contested, high-value, or time-barred if delayed, verify the current position with the official source and, where appropriate, a qualified professional before acting.
